Jon Wallwork Design was formed in 1987 after some years working with other companies and finally as Design Manager for IBC, a UK specialist component manufacturer and supplier.
Jon Wallwork Design specialises in structural and surface packaging design for the Perfumery, Toiletries and Cosmetic industries. A thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes (glass making, plastic moulding, carton making etc.) provides the basis for practical design solutions. Creative, viable product design is complemented by a graphic approach tailored to market requirements. Clients choose Jon for a proven ability to listen, absorb and generate ideas into practical solutions. The approach may challenge their preconceptions but will always accept the perameters of production.
During the 1990’s Jon embarked on several DTI Trade Missions which resulted in working with clients in Taiwan, Singapore and Korea. He was also a runner up in a design competition run by Nikka Whisky in Japan. It was in fact the frequent trips to Taiwan that seeded the idea and practice of Tai Chi Chuan.
Over the years clients have included AD Skin Synergy, Broadoak Toiletries, Catherine Walker, Cologne & Cotton. Continental Bottle Co., Elida Gibbs, Fa Jin Cosmetics (Seoul, Korea), Floris, International Trade Corporation, Jong Yeong Cosmetics (Nantou, Taiwan), Liberty of London, Matthew Williamson, Max Factor, The National Trust, Parfums Molinard (France), Red Rock S.A.(France), Vivalis and Westone Products.
The collaboration with a wide variety of clients has ranged from fine fragrance to budget toiletries; from original concept design and implementation to technical assistance and artworking for other designers unfamiliar with the industry.
Middle East
A design inspired by the architecture of the Middle East, these perfume bottles were made by the best French glassmakers in semi automatic lead crystal and fully automatic white flint. A special edition was made incorporating gold filigree casing.
Using standard components for this start-up company and giving a contemporary and sympathetic graphic branding this product swiftly sold out on QVC.
Some highlights from the many hundreds of designs completed appear below.

A Royal household (Far East)
Manufactured in lead crystal with surlyn caps and bases, gold plated stands, and an exclusive perfume, these limited edition perfume bottles only ever changed hands as private gifts.
Kensington, London
The “I Love Lola” Eau de Parfum is a unique, collaborative project which calls for expertise to bring the concept to life. Over 30 years’ experience has enabled me to help develop what was a vision into a reality. The design is really quite simple using the much loved house colours and style for the handcrafted coffrets and a subtly geometric crystal like flacon and cap. The fragrance is breathtaking.
